Red Echo Group is the product of years of growth from a collection of artists who first met at the renowned Actors Theatre of Louisville Apprentice and Intern program. The members decided to start a company in Los Angeles called Red Echo Group, a not for profit (501 C-3) organization committed to fostering artistic communities.
In 2003, Executive Director Eric Keith and Creative Director David Huffman brought REG to Kansas City. They created the Let's Make a Movie program, an innovative after school program that takes at-risk youth off the streets and into the movie studio.
REG's mission is two-fold: First to provide hands-on experiences in theatre and film for underprivileged youth, filling the vacancy of ongoing, structured, artistic activity. And second to foster an ongoing artistic community by producing original plays and films by unknown writers and artists.
